WITH the Hippodrome and Hagia Sophia in the distance, on the 11 January 2011, the Annual General Meeting for the Congress Rental Network was called to order. Majority of the 37 country members, as well as the three new member countries were represented at this important annual event.
For those readers who are unaware of what the Congress Rental Network (CRN) is, here is a quick background on the association.
The CRN is a worldwide network of top- quality companies, all equipped with the latest Bosch Congress equipment for hire. They cater for any event where A/V, conference equipment and support personnel are required. CRN can supply exactly the conference solution you need, no matter the size of your event.
The CRN members, of whom Congress Rental South Africa is the sole African member, are specialists in congress equipment hire with experience in installing and operating state- of-the-art equipment for event organisers in countless venues around the world. Only the best Bosch congress systems and peripheral equipment are used, which is your guarantee of maximum efficiency, optimum control and perfect sound reproduction. The CRN has proudly been the preferred supplier to the EU for numerous years. The association is also an ICCA member and sponsors the equipment for the AICC conferences on a regular basis. The three day conference was held at the Elite World Hotel, Istanbul, and hosted by CON.SYS., the Turkish member of the CRN. The conference ran smoothly, efficiently showcasing the superior usability and functionality of the Bosch system. Numerous discussion groups were held to identify ways in which the network as a whole can tap in to its large international resources to best meet their clients growing demands and to win large conferences globally and locally. Essentially what the CRN aims to achieve is to provide their clients with a credible source of excellent conference equipment providers worldwide. Therefore eliminating one worry when a client is trying to manage a conference in a foreign country.
Social media platforms, such as Facebook and flickr, would show the CRN as a consolidated group but also showcase the numerous events that member countries have hosted across the globe. This way our clients would see that high standard levels and excellent services is a prerequisite for being a CRN member. Feel free to join the Congress Rental Network group on Facebook and have a look at what all the CRN member companies are up to. Presence at EIBTM was another marketing approach resolved to continue.
During the meeting, Sweden, Singapore and Mexico were welcomed to the CRN family, bringing our total number of members to 40. To see all our members, please visit this webpage. The Board of Directors of the CRN underwent a little shuffle with Fred Baysinger and Gilles Goudreault leaving, to be replaced by Paola Braccini (TC Group – Italy) and Kevin Leinbach (Mediaco – Canada). The meeting came to a close on 15 January and all left in high spirits, looking forward to the next AGM to be held in Chile next year.
