As South Africa made history as the first African nation to hold the G20 Presidency (December 2024 – November 2025), the year was filled with landmark gatherings that brought the world’s leaders to our shores. G20 meetings were hosted across the country – from the coastal elegance of Zimbali (KwaZulu-Natal) and the serene surroundings of Skukuza (Mpumalanga) and Mbombela to the scenic Somerset West (Western Cape) and the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Beyond South Africa’s borders, G20 Africa Outreach and technical working sessions were also held in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), strengthening regional dialogue and collaboration across Southern Africa.
Each of these events tackled critical global priorities – from climate finance and sustainable development to infrastructure investment, digital transformation, and inclusive growth.
